Intel Still Leading in CPU Market for 2023-2024

Despite the competitive pressure from AMD, Intel continues to lead in the CPU market as we move through 2024. Intel has managed to retain a significant portion of the market, holding 68.4% of the overall x86 market share, compared to AMD's 31.6%. This leadership is evident across various segments, including IoT and SoCs, where Intel extends its lead significantly when these are included (pcgamer).

Intel's competitive edge has been reinforced by strategic releases and enhancements in its product line. For instance, the launch of its new Xeon processors and the anticipation of upcoming releases like the Granite Rapids and Sierra Forest CPUs are set to bolster its position further. These developments suggest a robust strategy by Intel to maintain its market dominance by innovating and expanding its offerings (Data Center Knowledge).

Intel's current status as the market leader in CPUs, particularly in the high-demand server and AI fields, continues to affirm its stronghold in the industry as it navigates through 2024.

OneAPI

Intel is working on oneAPI (Intel Software) an  for all their semiconductors. OneAPI decides the best processor for the application and compiles it for that processor. This frees the developer from having to worry about low-level programming tasks and they expect to release it as open source soon.
